I love reading about food, the science of food, the history of food, how to grow it, methods of preparation all of it. As a result, I like the resources in cookbooks almost as much as the recipes. They’re fun for me to read, but they are also just so dang useful – I still go to Joy of Cooking every time I want to boil an egg (or cook a woodchuck, though admittedly that rarely comes up). In this section I’m compiling various tips and tricks that I find useful.
